Whatever you do, make sure you don’t do any marketing in August. There’s no real point is there – everyone’s on holiday and no one is buying. Much better to have a break and start again in September.
I remember having this view in my very first year in business. Nick was a teacher then and me and him had a lovely time playing computer games all summer.
But then, I had a thought – what if I turned this view point on its head. What if we did some marketing in August? How many appointments could we get for our clients?
Turns out, quite a lot actually and, for the last few years, August and December have been two of the busiest months for us. Could it be because most other business owners have the view that I had in my first year in business?
