Have we ever shared our story with you – the story of how we discovered one simple idea that transformed our business?

Well if I have, I apologise – you’re about to hear this story again. But if you haven’t, here goes….

Let’s go all the way back to 2010 – you know, when the world was ‘normal’. Our business, back in those days, was quite frankly not exactly doing what we wanted it to do. Back then, we used to do a bit of everything. We used to do blogs, email marketing, social media and we used to dabble in getting appointments for our clients.

I use the word dabble because we didn’t have a process that worked over and over again to get consistent appointments.

And then we happened to jump on some training which literally changed everything overnight.

The trainer shared how he used LinkedIn to get appointments for his clients and the light bulb went off for us.

We remembered how we used to do that process when we went out to networking events. We used to go to the event, grab the list of attendees or as many business cards as we could and knowing we couldn’t speak to everyone in the room, we used to come back and email people that were at the networking event and ask them if they wanted to have a chat.

Obviously not everyone replied but a lot did and we used to get loads of business from this process.

The guy on the training was pretty much doing the exact same thing but using LinkedIn.

The next day, we were so excited and used this process for one of our clients – and three people came back and requested an appointment! Amazing!

We started to use this for our business and since then, this is pretty much the only marketing method we’ve used to get clients.

When we were happy with the process, we rolled it out to all of our clients and this is literally the only method we use to get appointments for both ourselves and our clients now.
